CPF - MB Projects & Initiatives CPF-MB projects and initiatives compliment the curriculum and learning objectives of French-second-language (FSL) programs. The projects enhance exposure to learning language opportunities outside the classroom. They assist students to experience French as a living language. Strongly supported by parents, these activities often involve whole families and provide the opportunity to acquire a new knowledge and appreciation of the richness that linguistic duality brings to our society.

French For Life is a FSL promotional campaign, which highlights the benefits of learning French. It offers scheduled presentations throughout the year for students, parents, teachers and administrators, a comprehensive website and bilingual Q&A booklet for parents and teachers. Please click here for more information. Histoire en direct - MB TV - History in Prime Time is a bilingual booklet depicting important historical events that have shaped the Province of Manitoba. Illustrated by local artist Jérald Laroche, this booklet is full of interesting information and is pedigogically valuable to basic French and French Immersion students in Grades 4 to 8. French For Life Poster Campaign is an initiative to assist young Manitoban's to better understand the benefits of continuing their French studies. Students were invited to complete the slogan "I Choose French for MY Life Because....". Six slogans were selected and the authors were invited to act as French for Life Ambassadors. And there's more! Jeune artiste du Manitoba (JAM) is Manitoba's French language singing competition for French-second-language (FSL) students who are 11 to 19 years old. The event will be held April 5-7, 2013 at the beautiful Université de Saint-Boniface. Please click here for more information.
French Summer Camps are for French Immersion students aged 6-10 years. They provide an opportunity for French Immersion students to use the French language outside of the classroom in a fun environment, which encourages, creativity, imagination, and an insight into French as a day-to-day, living and enjoyable language. Cultural Tours are French performance and activity events that enable French Second Language Entertainers / Facilitators to share their skills with students studying French as a second language. The tours are offered to students in Grades K –12, in areas where CPF-MB has a local Chapter. Schedule and details for the 2009 Cultural Tour to come. Please click here for more information. French Immersion Drama Extravaganzas are drama-based French activities that introduce young French Immersion students in Grades 7-12 to the basics of theatrical performances in French, improvisation techniques and the use of props. Theatre Projects are drama-based French activities specifically designed for Basic French students in Grades 9-12. Scheduled for Winnipeg and rural areas in April and May, 2010. Please click here for more information.
French Multi-Media Kits are mobile resource libraries for FSL early-years, middle-years and senior-years students and parents. They are available to Manitoban schools for 6-week periods on a rotational basis. The kits contain a variety of French books, videos, read-along cassette and book sets, CDs, interactive CD-ROMS, and DVD’s. Scheduled rotations province-wide throughout the year.
French for Career Options is an interactive career-focused two day event that enhances an awarness of career prospects that are available to bilingual individuals. The event is open to French Immersion and basic French students in Grades 8-10. Students have the opportunity to participate in workshops facilitated by employers who represent professions or fields that are deemed more attainable to bilingual candidates. Stadacona to Québec dans un instant! was created by CPF-MB to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Québec City. Manitoban artist Gérald Laroche illustrates the tale of a young skateboarder from Saint Boniface who travels back in time to experience some of the important events that helped shape the historic City of Québec and Canada. Québec City DVD and Lesson Plan will be a humorous and bilingual drama production that accurately depicts significant historical events related to Québec City from 1608 to present. The DVD will include a CD-ROM with appropriate lesson plans that will complement the content of the drama production. The finished product will be suitable for Manitoban French Immersion students in Grades 4-8 and will be distributed to Manitoban Schools where teachers will be able to use it as an educational tool that complements the social studies curricula. CPF-MB NEWS are newsletters for CPF-MB members which provide FSL related information, news, research and French cultural activity calendars.
