About Us
What is Canadian Parents for French?
Canadian Parents for French is a national volunteer organization of adults
who recognize the value of learning French and actively promote opportunities
for young Canadians to learn and use French.
Canadian Parents for French provides information services for parents seeking
research data about French Immersion, information about programs in other areas
of the province or country, information about camps and other enrichment activities
and provincial and national newsletters with items of interest to parents, teachers
and students.
CPF Manitoba (CPF-MB) maintains a rich and varied assortment of information
and support services via the CPF Manitoba Branch website
and publishes a wealth of information in its newsletters, the CPF Manitoba NEWS.
CPF-MB acts as an advocate for French second-language programs, such as French
Immersion and Basic French, providing information and support to parents seeking
new programs or making presentations to local school boards for changes or expansion
of existing programs.
CPF has members in school divisions all over Manitoba, wherever there are French
Immersion and Basic French programs. CPF-MB members contribute many hours to support the programs: fund-raising, joining in reading programs, organizing
camps, visits and exchanges, holding family fun nights for FSL students and
parents and providing information about FSL programs.
